Preparing Students for Their Energy Future

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.

We teach students about energy but creating a deep understanding is not easy. We use it everyday but we don't really understand it very well. We'll show you how you can deliver on your curriculum while helping your students deepen their understanding of our evolving energy systems, compare the impacts of existing and emerging energy sources, and assess the benefits and costs of our energy choices on ourselves, our communities and our environment. This session will use simple technology to create real data for electricity use that will peak your students curiosity for them to use their investigative and critical thinking skills. You'll 'learn by doing' some of our favourite curriculum-linked energy activities geared specifically for elementary students and review some key resources you can use in your classroom. This workshop targets Division I and II teachers. Please bring a laptop or mobile device to be able to access the internet.
