Simulations, 'actualizations' and 'aha'-moments are all part of a students experience in social studies classes when project-based and concept-based learning are combined to create fun and entertaining lessons for grade 6 to 8 students. Understanding civic responsibilities, cultural diversity and environmental appreciation are concepts presented and developed through activities that will improve student engagement, performance and appreciation for social interactions within Canada and around the world.
