About one third of students in our schools have endured adverse experiences. As teachers, we need to meet the social and emotional needs of those students while continuing to deliver content that meets the outcomes set by Alberta Education. This session will cover basic neurobiology to help teachers understand why students behave as they do. We will go over strategies that can be adapted for various grade levels that will support cognitive learning while regulating students' stress responses.
