Graphic novels are a popular genre for students and have transformed many reluctant readers into voracious readers! Have you ever taught students how to read a graphic novel? There are many important elements of a graphic novel that could enhance the reading experience for students. In addition, graphic novels can be used to discuss comprehension strategies such as prediction, inference skills in the text and illustrations, and synthesising skills. During this session we will discuss a few powerful universal lessons that will leave your students begging for more graphic novels in the classroom! Grades 2-8
