Lisa is a proud member of the MΓ©tis Nation of Alberta. Lisa has worked in the K-12 system for 19 years in various capacities such as: Elementary Educator, Indigenous Education Consultant, Provincial Curriculum Development, and is now currently the Director for MΓ©tis Education and Lifelong learning at Rupertsland Institute. Lisa is passionate and committed to advancing MΓ©tis education across the province and building capacity with MΓ©tis educators. Learning and understanding how systemic policies of the past impacted many Indigenous people’s lives including her own, gives Lisa the drive to keep making Indigenous Education a top priority for system leaders, educators, and community members across the province.
